Berry & Lamberts Solicitors Charities

Porchlight

As our 2020/2021 charity of the year, we are proud to be supporting Porchlight, Kent’s largest charity for homeless, vulnerable and isolated people.

Porchlight are there for people who have nowhere to go and no one to turn to. Some are living on the streets, others need their support to prevent or resolve any issues that could put them at risk of homelessness. The team at Porchlight work with people on the streets, in their supported housing and in local communities. They help people with their mental health, housing, education and employment so they can get where they want to be in life. As a company, we will be holding fundraising activities throughout the year with the aim of raising as much money as possible to help support their work.

Hospice in the Weald

Hospice in the Weald was our charity of the year in 2019 and we were delighted to be able to hand over a total fundraising sum of £7,155!

Hospice in the Weald provides compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for all people with a terminal illness, their families, and carers across West Kent and East Sussex. Their Hospice care enables patients, families and carers to celebrate life and dignify death.

3h

3H Fund was our charity of the year in 2017/18. Founded over 40 years ago, 3H is a local charity which runs holidays and day trips for disabled people and enables carers to have respite. We raised money for 3H through collection tins, sending a team of staff on the 3 peaks challenge, a quiz night and cake baking, to name a few! Thanks to everyone involved we raised over £4,000!

Cancer Research Uk

Cancer Research Wills – every year our private client solicitors write a number of Wills for Cancer Research UK. We’ve partnered with the charity to provide a Will-writing service that is free for a set number of people per year, aged over 55, who want to write or update a simple Will. We can also offer guidance and information about leaving a legacy gift to Cancer Research UK.

Save the Children

Every year we support Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. The money we help raise could be the difference between a hot meal or no meal. It can help bring essential healthcare, education, protection and food to millions of children around the world who are missing out on these basics.

Community Sponsorships

As a long-standing business, we have been part of the West Kent community for over 260 years. It is very important to us that we give back and are passionate that we are an integrated part of the community. Here are just some of the things we have been involved in recently:

We are proud to be a Corporate Partner of Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells. Trinity is a 291-seat theatre and arts venue in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, set in a striking 19th century Decimus Burton designed grade II* listed building. As a charity, it does a lot for the local community and supports local groups.

We are a supporter of the annual Tonbridge Calling Festival and contribute towards both the cost and organisation of the event with some of our staff volunteering their services. This free festival aims to increase diversity and tolerance by bringing people within the community together.

We were delighted to have sponsored author, Iain Rankin, at the Chiddingstone Literature Festival in May 2018 and renowned local author, Peter James, in May 2019.

In addition to supporting local community events, we have also supported a number of local schools and sports teams through sponsorship and paid advertising.
