Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship
Lasting Powers of Attorney
A Lasting Powers of Attorney is a tool which enables you to make provision for yourself in the future, should you be unable to make personal decisions due to infirmity or mental incapacity. We are able to prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney so a trusted person may deal with your property and affairs and/or your personal welfare. If you do not have a person who you would trust to take on such responsibility, our Partners are able to be appointed to act as your Attorneys, subject to your instructions. We would then assist in managing your finances including payment of bills, housing costs and other expenses.
If you have been appointed to act as an Attorney for someone else, we provide advice on the role and function of an Attorney, and in respect of common issues that arise, such as gift giving or disputes between Attorneys.
Enduring Powers of Attorney
Enduring Powers of Attorney are the previous format of Lasting Powers of Attorney. If you already have an Enduring Power of Attorney, we can provide advice on the terms of that document. If you have been appointed as Attorney under an Enduring Power of Attorney, we can assist in the registration, or application, of the power.
If you or a relative become incapable of managing your affairs, and there is no Lasting or Enduring Power of Attorney in place, we can assist with applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of a Deputy to manage your affairs, our Partners can even act as a Deputy. If you are appointed to act as Deputy for someone, we provide advice on the role and function of a Deputy, and assist to prepare the annual report.
Thank you for all the work that you have undertaken on behalf of my family and myself. You carried out a very thorough, professional and accommodating service.
Communication was fantastic at all levels. Professional, helpful, easy to deal with, personable, unstressful and competent.
I would have no hesitation using your services again and recommending you to my friends and acquaintances.
Nice, friendly and helpful staff and atmosphere. Rates charged competitive too.
Our legal teams have a genuine passion for what they do. Their specialist knowledge is an absolute given (you should accept nothing less) and they pride themselves in working alongside clients to help them achieve the results they seek in their professional and personal lives.
